About Our Project

The River is a multi-disciplinary collaboration between performance artists Imogene Newland and Angela Main and composer and acoustic sound artist Bryce Hope.

Set at Lover’s Walk in Peterculter, Aberdeen, our project aims to explore the folk lore and tales of the River Dee and surrounding areas through the medium of dance and sound. The project will entail research into the area – citing stories such as Boaty Maggie – and will look to incorporate the natural aural beauty of the landscape into acoustic soundscapes.

This blog will demonstrate our on-going learning process and will be a vital point of discovery for anybody interested in our project, so click a post and delve into our world of exploring through performance.

#riverabdn2017 is supported by Aberdeen City Council, Creative Scotland and SonADA.
